Description

A nutritious, fibre-rich flatbread made with jowar flour, fresh vegetables, herbs and spices. It is a healthy and filling option for breakfast or a light meal.


Ingredients

  • Jowar flour – ½ cup
  • Grated carrot – 2 tablespoons
  • Finely chopped onion – 2 tablespoons
  • Finely chopped capsicum – 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilli – ½, finely chopped
  • Cumin seeds – ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt – as required
  • Water – as needed
  • Oil – 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Combine jowar flour, vegetables, coriander, green chilli, cumin seeds and salt in a bowl.
  2. Gradually add water and prepare a soft dough.
  3. Place the dough on greased butter paper and flatten it gently into a medium-sized circle using wet fingers.
  4. Carefully transfer it to a hot tawa.
  5. Cook over medium heat using one teaspoon of oil.
  6. Flip and cook both sides until golden brown.
  7. Serve hot with plain curd or coriander chutney.
