Ingredients
- Buckwheat groats – 60 grams
- Sweet potato, peeled and diced-100 grams
- Onion, finely chopped-30 grams
- Chili, finely chopped- 1 green
- mustard seeds-1/2 teaspoon c
- Cumin seeds- 1/2 teaspoon
- A few curry leaves
- Roasted peanuts-2 tablespoons
- Grated coconut- 2 tablespoons
- Cooking oil or ghee-1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions
- Toast the Buckwheat: Begin by dry-roasting buckwheat groats in a pan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until they take on a light golden color and release a pleasant aroma. Once done, remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare the Sweet Potato: While the buckwheat is cooling, steam or boil the diced sweet potato pieces until they are soft and easily pierced with a fork.
- Tempering Spices: In a separate pan, heat a little oil or ghee over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and allow them to pop. Then, introduce cumin seeds, curry leaves, and finely chopped green chilies. Sauté briefly before adding chopped onions. Continue to cook until the onions turn translucent.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked sweet potato cubes and toasted buckwheat groats to the pan. Stir everything together to combine.
- Add Crunch and Flavor: Toss in some roasted peanuts and freshly grated coconut, mixing well. Let everything cook together for a few more minutes to meld the flavors.
